CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of Tourism Regional Office III (DOT-III) officially broke ground for its future regional headquarters on Wednesday at the City Town Center in Barangay Bulaon, marking a significant step toward strengthening tourism development and public service delivery in Central Luzon.
The groundbreaking ceremony gathered tourism and local government officials led by DOT-III Regional Director Richard G. Daenos and Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Chief Operating Officer Mark T. Lapid. Representing City of San Fernando Mayor Vilma B. Caluag was Acting City Legal Officer Atty. Kristannico S. Abad.
Also present were officials and representatives from TIEZA, the Department of Tourism, and the City Government of San Fernando, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the project.

The future regional office is envisioned to serve as a central hub for tourism planning, coordination, and program implementation across Central Luzon, further enhancing the region’s capability to promote its diverse tourism destinations and support industry stakeholders.
Officials said the project reflects the government’s continuing commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and providing a more accessible and efficient workplace for tourism services in the region.
The new facility is expected to improve coordination among tourism stakeholders, support the implementation of tourism programs, and help advance initiatives that contribute to sustainable tourism growth and economic development.
Regional Director Daenos emphasized that the project represents more than the construction of a government building, describing it as an investment in the future of Central Luzon’s tourism industry and the communities that depend on it.

For TIEZA and DOT-III, the new office symbolizes a shared vision of creating a stronger, more responsive, and future-ready tourism sector capable of driving growth, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing visitor experiences throughout the region.
