SUBIC, Zambales — Thousands of college students in Subic received educational assistance under the EduKalinga program initiated by Congressman Jay Khonghun during a payout activity held Thursday, May 21, at the Subic Sports Complex.

A total of 4,700 college student beneficiaries received ₱3,000 each in financial assistance aimed at helping support their educational expenses.

The distribution was conducted through the assistance of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in coordination with personnel from the Mayor’s Office of the Local Government Unit of Subic.

The EduKalinga payout in Subic followed an earlier distribution in Olongapo City conducted on May 14 and 15, where around 7,700 college students also received the same educational assistance.

Congressman Jay Khonghun personally attended the activity and met with the student beneficiaries, reaffirming his commitment to sustaining programs that support the education sector.

“Always remember that every day, I think about your welfare, which is why we continue working hard to sustain these programs,” Khonghun told the students during the event.

He also assured beneficiaries that the next EduKalinga payout for the first semester of Academic Year 2026-2027 would be released earlier to further assist students in preparing for school-related expenses.

Following the Subic distribution, similar educational assistance activities are also scheduled to be conducted in the municipalities of Castillejos and San Marcelino.

The EduKalinga program forms part of ongoing efforts to provide financial support to students and help ease the burden of educational costs for families in Zambales and Olongapo City.
