MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) are exploring joint road safety initiatives for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers to improve commuter safety and transport services within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

The two agencies recently held a coordination meeting to discuss plans for a road safety seminar aimed at promoting responsible driving and strengthening safety awareness among PUV drivers serving the freeport community.

The proposed initiative seeks to help protect FAB workers and other commuters by encouraging safer driving practices and supporting more efficient transport services within the economic zone.

Discussions also covered AFAB’s regulatory functions concerning transportation within the freeport and possible partnerships with the LTO in implementing programs and projects to improve mobility and road safety.

The collaboration reflects both agencies’ efforts to coordinate their respective mandates in addressing transport concerns and promoting a safer commuting environment for workers, locators and other stakeholders in the FAB.

Further cooperation is expected to support initiatives that strengthen road safety awareness and improve the delivery of public transport services within the freeport.
