Central Luzon’s rich culinary heritage took center stage as Food Talks 2026 opened with a vibrant Food Tasting Area, offering guests a flavorful introduction to the region’s diverse food traditions.

The opening highlight gathered representatives from the seven provinces of Central Luzon, along with the Clark and Subic Bay Freeport Zones, each presenting a curated selection of their most recognizable delicacies. The showcase served as a culinary map of the region, allowing attendees to experience local identity and culture through taste.

Mounted in collaboration with the Holy Angel University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, the initiative brought together local government units and food producers in a shared effort to promote regional cuisine and strengthen tourism through gastronomy.

Among the featured participants were well-known regional brands such as Baker J Café Clark, LA Bakeshop, and 727 Coffee & Co., which offered pastries and beverages that complemented the traditional lineup while highlighting the evolving food scene in Central Luzon.

Each province presented specialties that reflected its unique heritage. Bataan featured dishes such as tinapa roll, tamales, and buko pie, while Bulacan showcased pancit palabok, tinapang bangus, and native delicacies. Nueva Ecija highlighted its famed pastillas and tapuy wine, while Pampanga—widely regarded as the country’s culinary capital—offered its iconic sizzling sisig alongside locally produced breads and delicacies.

Tarlac contributed traditional snacks and kakanin, while Zambales presented agricultural products and innovative local treats, including its well-known dinamulag mangoes. The Clark and Subic Freeport Zones added a modern touch to the lineup with specialty pastries and coffee selections.

More than just a tasting event, the Food Tasting Area embodied the essence of Food Talks—bringing together food, stories, and communities. It provided a platform for local producers, highlighted regional pride, and encouraged a deeper appreciation of Central Luzon’s culinary landscape.

Food Talks is set to return in 2027, continuing the Department of Tourism Region III’s efforts to promote sustainable tourism and celebrate the flavors that define the region. (Department of Tourism III)
