ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA — As floodwaters submerge more than twenty localities across Pampanga and thousands of Cabalens are once again driven into evacuation centers, Kilusan Kontra Kurakot (KKK) – Pampanga is channeling the province’s frustration into civic action. The movement today issued its stand on the flooding and announced MUSIKALAYAAN, a free anti-corruption benefit concert and rally, on Friday, September 19, 2026, at the VDR Covered Court in Angeles City.

Our Cabalens are drowning in the same waters, trapped in the same cycle, year after year. Families are uprooted, farmers watch their livelihoods wash away, and the elderly, the children, and the sick bear the heaviest cost of a disaster that should have been prevented.

“To every Kapampangan family suffering today: we stand with you, and our volunteers are on the ground,” said Emeric Paras, Supremo of KKK – Pampanga. “But let us be clear. Relief aid is not a blessing. It is proof that something failed. Our Cabalens deserve better than relief goods handed out as charity. There is no need for constant rescue if public funds are used honestly and the projects meant to protect us actually work.”

Millions of pesos intended for Pampanga’s flood-control and drainage projects are now tied up in a national controversy under scrutiny by the Senate and the Commission on Audit, with projects in the province already publicly flagged. KKK – Pampanga does not pronounce anyone guilty. That is for a lawful process to decide. But the movement insists the public has a right to be furious and an absolute right to demand immediate, unfiltered answers.

“We are done waiting. We demand full accountability now.” KKK states.

Sunlight strengthens trust. An honest project has nothing to hide from the people it was built to protect.

MUSIKALAYAAN is how the movement turns that demand into a gathering. Ten local bands will perform for an expected crowd of around a thousand, uniting Kapampangans around a single conviction: “Isang gabi ng musika para sa isang bansang malaya sa korapsyon at panlilinlang.” A night of music for a nation free of corruption and deceit. Music is the invitation. Integrity is the reason. Admission is free, and the movement invites every Cabalen, and all members of the press, to be there.

MUSIKALAYAAN is also a relief donation drive for our flood-stricken Cabalens. Donation boxes will be placed near the stage throughout the program to collect relief donations for the victims of the habagat flooding. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring what they can. We give relief today because our families need it now, even as we demand the accountability that would make relief unnecessary.
