Maxim Rides & Food Delivery expressed support for Iloilo City Rep. Julienne Baronda’s call to temporarily lower ride-hailing commissions, emphasizing a shared goal of helping TNVS drivers cope with rising fuel costs and economic pressures.

The company noted that its commission rates range from 0% to 18%, among the lowest in the market, with 0% commission currently implemented in several cities, including Cebu, General Santos, and Iligan. In areas where commissions apply, drivers can further reduce them through permanent measures such as vehicle branding, as well as temporary or campaign-based initiatives, including participation in socially significant activities like blood donation drives and community clean-up programs.

Meanwhile, driver-partners have started receiving fuel subsidies from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), with the first group in Manila already granted financial assistance.

Alongside government support, Maxim continues to provide its own assistance through fuel vouchers, helping reduce drivers’ daily operating expenses and improve their take-home income.

“Our driver-partners are among the most affected by rising fuel prices, and we remain committed to supporting them during this challenging time,” said Andres Morales, Jr., President of Maxim. “We continue to keep passenger fares affordable, often at our own expense, by providing fuel support and implementing 0% commission in select cities to help drivers sustain their livelihood.”

Maxim’s fuel vouchers can cover up to a full day of operations for motorcycle drivers, significantly reducing daily expenses. Distributed twice a month, these vouchers can help sustain their operations for an entire month without having to shoulder fuel costs out of pocket.

Combined with lower or zero commission in some areas, these measures help ease financial pressure and allow drivers to retain more of their daily earnings.
