PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — The Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija will provide Starlink satellite internet connectivity to 120 public school sites across the province to help address internet access gaps and support digital learning.
Gov. Aurelio “Oyie” M. Umali and Vice Gov. Gil Raymond M. Umali led the initiative during a ceremonial turnover held Sept. 2, 2026 at the Nueva Ecija Coliseum here.
During the ceremony, Umali personally turned over a Starlink Kit, a satellite internet hardware package, to Schools Division Superintendent Ericson Sabacan as part of the provincial government’s Free WiFi Program.
The initiative is intended to improve internet connectivity in public schools, particularly those in remote areas where conventional internet services are limited or unreliable.
The provincial government said the installation of Starlink will give more teachers and students access to online educational resources, digital learning materials, research tools and other technology-based teaching and learning platforms.
The program forms part of the provincial government’s continuing efforts to support the digitalization of education and provide students across Nueva Ecija with more reliable internet access for academic activities.
It is also expected to help schools maximize digital resources and strengthen technology-assisted teaching and learning, particularly in areas where connectivity remains a challenge. (Jason de Asis)
