CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A wanted rape suspect was arrested in Pampanga less than 24 hours after the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) released his wanted poster on social media and appealed to the public for information.
The suspect, identified as William Meria Corre, was arrested at about 4:10 p.m. on July 9 at the parking area of a commercial establishment in Barangay San Jose, City of San Fernando, through a joint operation by the Special Operations Unit 3 of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), City of San Fernando Police Station, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Pampanga, Regional Special Operations Group 3 (RSOG 3), Regional Intelligence Unit 3 (RIU 3), and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU)-Pampanga.
Authorities served warrants of arrest issued by Judge Jesusa Mylene Suba Isip of the Regional Trial Court Branch 49 in Guagua, Pampanga, for multiple counts of rape and rape by sexual assault under the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353.
The warrants, dated June 30, 2026, covered Criminal Case Nos. G-26-20538, G-26-20539, and G-26-20540.
Police said Corre was also linked to other criminal incidents, including robbery and acts of lasciviousness, prompting intensified efforts to locate and arrest him.
Two more victims came forward following the arrest of a wanted suspect in Pampanga, positively identifying the accused in connection with separate criminal incidents. Police Regional Director Brig. Following his arrest, two more victims came forward and positively identified the suspect in separate incidents. The victims provided statements and information that may support the filing of additional criminal charges.
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez said the arrest shows the importance of public cooperation and coordination among law enforcement units.
“This arrest underscores the impact of timely information sharing, active community participation, and coordinated police operations. Guided by the leadership of the PNP and anchored on our commitment to deliver Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman, we will continue to pursue wanted persons relentlessly and ensure that those who prey on our communities are brought to justice,” Mendez said.
He also encouraged other victims and witnesses to coordinate with authorities, assuring them of police support and protection throughout the legal process.
