๐ฅ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐, ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ, ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ โ In a decisive blow against illegal drug trafficking, joint operating elements of Aurora Police Provincial Office (APPO) successfully seized approximately six grams of suspected shabu and arrested a suspect on January 26, 2026, at Barangay 01 Poblacion, Casiguran, Aurora.
The operation was led by the Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Casiguran Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of APPO, and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 3 (RDEU3).
The coordinated effort underscores the commitment of local and regional authorities to enforce Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation followed the issuance of Search Warrant No. 2026-01-01 from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 101, based on intelligence and coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
During the search of the residence, authorities recovered: 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately six grams and estimated to have a street value of Php40,800.00 and drug paraphernalia.
All seized items were properly marked, documented during the inventory process witnessed by the local authorities and media representative in Casiguran, ensuring full transparency and adherence to legal protocols.
The suspect, a 39-year-old driver, was taken into custody immediately following the operation. He underwent a medical examination at Casiguran District Hospital to ensure his well-being before being transferred to the Casiguran MPS for investigation and formal booking.
Suspect is expected to face formal charges under RA 9165, which imposes strict penalties for illegal possession, use, and trafficking of dangerous drugs.
