MARIVELES, Bataan — Senior citizens from Barangays Malaya and Maligaya received medical and vision care services during a medical mission organized by the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Bataan Chapter and Essilor Manufacturing Philippines Inc. on Oct. 2.
The activity, held at the AFAB Sports Complex, was conducted through the agency’s Gender and Development Committee as part of the observance of Elderly Filipino Week.
The medical mission provided senior citizens access to health consultations, vision care and health education programs aimed at promoting their well-being and improving their awareness of health concerns associated with aging.

The collaboration brought together government and private-sector partners to extend basic health services to elderly residents, particularly those who may face challenges accessing medical and vision care.
Essilor Manufacturing Philippines, a company engaged in optical products, supported the initiative alongside the PRC-Bataan Chapter, which partnered with AFAB in delivering services to the beneficiaries.
The activity forms part of AFAB’s community outreach efforts, highlighting the importance of cooperation among government agencies, private companies and humanitarian organizations in addressing local health needs.
Through initiatives such as the medical mission, AFAB continues to promote inclusive community services and access to health care for senior citizens.
