MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) is strengthening its partnership with educational institutions as part of its broader vision of building a sustainable and inclusive investment hub in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).
AFAB Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Hussein P. Pangandaman welcomed the principals of BEPZ Elementary School and Mariveles National High School–Malaya during a courtesy call on July 6, where both parties discussed collaborative initiatives that will enhance student welfare and improve community facilities within the Freeport.
Among the proposals explored was the future establishment of recreational facilities that will provide students with safe spaces for sports, learning, and community engagement. The initiative aligns with AFAB’s development strategy of integrating quality social infrastructure alongside industrial and commercial growth.
Pangandaman emphasized that creating a world-class investment destination goes beyond attracting businesses and generating employment, noting that developing educational and community support facilities is equally vital in fostering a productive and resilient workforce.
The meeting also reinforced AFAB’s commitment to working closely with schools and local stakeholders to ensure that economic progress within the Freeport translates into tangible benefits for host communities.
The courtesy visit followed AFAB’s recent Brigada Eskwela 2026 assistance, where BEPZ Elementary School and Mariveles National High School–Malaya were among the schools that received support from the agency in preparation for the opening of classes.
As FAB continues to attract investments and expand economic opportunities, AFAB said it remains committed to balancing infrastructure development with programs that promote education, community welfare, and long-term human capital development.
