MARIVELES, BATAAN — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), together with the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch (RCMB) III, strengthened its commitment to worker welfare and industrial harmony through a seminar focused on employee engagement, workplace discipline, and safe working environments.

Held on May 20, 2026, the seminar titled “Building a Balanced Workplace: Strategies for Workers’ Engagement and Retention, Detecting and Addressing Wage Distortion, Ensuring Discipline and Promoting Safe Spaces” gathered human resource managers, HR personnel, and labor representatives from various enterprises inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB). Representatives from the Coalition of Labor Unions in Bataan (CLUB) also participated in the activity.

The seminar served as a platform for employers and workers to discuss strategies that promote stronger labor-management relations and healthier workplace culture. Discussions centered on employee retention and engagement, addressing wage distortion issues, maintaining discipline in the workplace, and ensuring compliance with Safe Spaces policies.

Officials emphasized the importance of collaboration between management and employees in creating productive, inclusive, and respectful work environments across FAB locators and enterprises.

AFAB said the initiative forms part of its continuing efforts to support programs that protect workers’ welfare while helping businesses maintain positive and sustainable workplace relations.

Through partnerships with labor and management stakeholders, AFAB continues to promote policies and activities that contribute to the overall well-being and productivity of the FAB workforce.
