Subic Bay Freeport — A meaningful blend of faith and road safety awareness was highlighted during the “Blessing of the Helmets & Road Safety Advocacy” held on April 18, 2026 at the Sanctuario De San Roque, drawing motorcycle riders and members of the community.
The activity was organized by Sanctuario De San Roque in partnership with LCPG and EMHC, with support from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA). It aimed to promote responsible riding and strengthen safety awareness through a combination of spiritual reflection and educational initiatives.
Program highlights included a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Noel Montes, the blessing of helmets and motorcycles, followed by a road safety and driving refresher seminar led by Ashley Tirona of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Olongapo-Zambales Licensing Office, and a trade fair that provided participants with valuable information on safe riding practices.

Organizers emphasized that the initiative goes beyond seeking divine protection, serving as a reminder that road safety depends on discipline, awareness, and personal responsibility among motorists.
“This gathering reminds us that safety is both a personal responsibility and a shared commitment. Through faith and education, we hope to inspire riders to prioritize life and safety at all times,” Derrick Quijano Manuel said.
The event was conducted in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Metro Olongapo, reinforcing community involvement in promoting road safety within the Subic Bay Freeport and nearby areas.
Motorcycle enthusiasts, families, and the general public were encouraged to take part in similar activities that foster a culture of safety and responsibility on the road.
