STO. DOMINGO, Nueva Ecija — The 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division strengthened inter-agency cooperation and operational readiness through the successful conduct of the COM7 Cup 2026 tactical shooting competition held on May 23 to 24 at the TONESA Firing Range in Barangay Malasin, Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

Conducted in partnership with the Travelers of Nueva Ecija Shooting Association (TONESA), the two-day event gathered military personnel, law enforcement operatives, and civilian shooting enthusiasts in a demonstration of precision, discipline, and combat preparedness.

The competition was spearheaded by the 7th Infantry Division under the leadership of Major General Joseph Norwin D. Pasamonte, who led the ceremonial shoot to formally open the event. The ceremony symbolized solidarity and the shared commitment of participating agencies to national security and public safety.

Participants included various line units of the 7th Infantry Division, major Philippine Army units, the Philippine Public Safety Academy, the Philippine National Police, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Presidential Security Command, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and members of the civilian shooting community.

The COM7 Cup 2026 featured a PPSA Level 1 Sanctioned Match designed to test tactical proficiency, mental focus, and shooting discipline. The first day highlighted the Team Match composed of five challenging stages that evaluated teamwork, communication, coordination, and decision-making under pressure.

Meanwhile, the second day featured the Main Match with eight demanding stages that assessed speed, precision, weapons handling, tactical adaptability, and overall shooting capability in dynamic and realistic scenarios.

According to the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division, the activity aimed to further improve the practical shooting skills and operational preparedness of soldiers and partner law enforcement personnel while strengthening camaraderie, trust, and cooperation among participating agencies and civilian stakeholders.

Officials said the competition also reinforced the importance of interoperability and partnership in ensuring effective security operations and maintaining peace and stability in communities.

Through COM7 Cup 2026, the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division reaffirmed its commitment to building disciplined, mission-ready, and highly capable forces while fostering stronger collaboration among the military, law enforcement agencies, and civilian partners dedicated to safeguarding the nation and protecting the Filipino people.
