In his message, DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo highlighted the importance of the wood industry in contributing to economic growth through job generation, livelihood opportunities, enterprise development, trade, construction, manufacturing, and innovation.

Pablo said the sustainable growth of the industry can only be achieved through collaboration among government agencies, private sector partners, foresters, communities, and stakeholders committed to the responsible management and use of forest resources.

He also lauded the PWPA for spearheading the conference, which serves as a venue for dialogue, collaboration, and practical action toward building a greener and more competitive industry.

“We commend the PWPA for providing a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and practical action. This conference opens more opportunities for partnership and meaningful solutions for a greener, more resilient, and more competitive Philippine wood and furniture industry,” Pablo said.

Carrying the theme “From Forest to Future: Revitalizing the Philippine Wood Industry for the Next Generation,” the conference aimed to promote stronger partnerships and encourage sustainable practices that will help secure the future of the Philippine wood industry.

The expo and conference also showcased industry innovations and highlighted the need to balance economic progress with environmental protection and responsible forest resource management.
