HONG KONG — The Philippines stepped up efforts to attract more foreign investments as government and business leaders highlighted emerging opportunities in key industries during the Philippine Economic Briefing in Hong Kong.

Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang joined Philippine officials led by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go in presenting the country’s investment prospects to members of the Hong Kong business community.

The briefing focused on opportunities in high-tech manufacturing, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, logistics, and other priority sectors that are expected to drive the Philippines’ economic growth and transformation.

Bingcang emphasized the importance of strategic infrastructure and economic zones in creating a more competitive environment for businesses looking to establish, expand, and connect their operations to growing regional markets.

He also highlighted investment opportunities arising from the Philippines’ continuing infrastructure development and economic transformation, noting the role of strategic projects in strengthening connectivity and supporting long-term business growth.

The engagement also opened discussions between Philippine officials and Hong Kong investors on investment policies, incentives, and potential partnerships that could generate new economic opportunities and contribute to job creation for Filipinos.

Through its economic zones and strategic infrastructure projects, the BCDA continues to support the government’s efforts to attract global investors and connect them with investment opportunities across the Philippines.

The Philippine delegation included Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Governor Zeno Ronald R. Abenoja, Board of Investments Executive Director Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa, Philippine Consul General Romulo Victor M. Israel Jr., Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime A. FlorCruz, and Department of Finance OCE Assistant Secretary Neil Cabiles.

The Hong Kong engagement forms part of the Philippines’ continuing efforts to promote the country as an attractive investment destination and strengthen economic ties with international business communities.
