Subic Bay Freeport — The Aurora Subic Hotel officially launched the newly revamped menu of its signature dining destination, Café Teofila Restaurant, during a special event held on May 14, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the hotel’s culinary journey and reaffirming its commitment to delivering an elevated food and beverage experience to guests.
Led by General Manager Rhette M. Villaruz, the launch event gathered key clients, loyal guests, partners, and suppliers, highlighting the hotel’s renewed direction in strengthening its hospitality and dining offerings.
The occasion introduced Café Teofila’s refreshed concept and menu—an ambitious culinary upgrade spearheaded by newly appointed Chef James Quilla of Castillejos, Zambales whose expertise brings a bold new vision to the restaurant.
In his welcome remarks, Villaruz emphasized the hotel’s commitment to continuous improvement in its food and beverage services as part of its evolving hospitality standards.
“For the past one and a half years, we’ve been working toward the dining experience we truly envision for our guests. Tonight represents a new beginning for us—one that reflects our passion for excellence and our commitment to delivering a more refined culinary experience,” he said.
The centerpiece of the relaunch is Café Teofila, a restaurant inspired by the life and legacy of Teofila B. Francisco, whose love for food, family, and music serves as the heart of the dining concept. The restaurant pays tribute to her story through dishes rooted in Filipino heritage, reimagined with modern culinary techniques.
Guests were introduced to the restaurant’s completely redesigned menu, described as a “total revamp,” featuring elevated dishes crafted to deliver a premium dining experience while preserving authentic Filipino flavors and tradition.
“This is a much-awaited relaunch for us. Café Teofila is more than a restaurant—it is a story, a tribute, and now a renewed culinary experience we are proud to share,” Villaruz added.
