Balanga City, Bataan — AboitizPower has strengthened its commitment to education and youth development in Bataan after granting ₱2 million worth of financial assistance to 200 engineering students under the provincial government’s Iskolar ng Bataan program.

The assistance was distributed through AboitizPower’s private limited partnerships, GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), during a ceremonial turnover held at The Bunker on April 29, 2026.

The beneficiaries are engineering students currently enrolled at Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), with the grant aimed at helping ease their academic expenses and supporting their pursuit of engineering careers.

The ₱2 million allocation represents the first tranche of AboitizPower’s ₱10 million educational commitment announced last year. Under the partnership agreement, the company will provide ₱2 million annually over the next five years to sustain financial support for qualified scholars.

Bataan Governor Joet Garcia and Vice Governor Cris Garcia formally received the ceremonial check from Andrea Madrid, Vice President for Corporate Services of AboitizPower GMEC-GNPD. Also present during the event was Iskolar ng Bataan coordinator Ramon Cañas.

It is about fueling the dreams of the community we serve,” Madrid said. “Through this partnership with the Iskolar ng Bataan program, we want to give these bright engineering students the peace of mind to focus on their studies and reach their full potential.”
