Manila — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) extended humanitarian assistance to 1,000 families affected by the recent 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Sarangani Province, reinforcing the government’s continuing efforts to help communities recover from the disaster.
The relief operation, conducted under BCDA’s “Tabang at Kalinga” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Relief Initiative, provided essential supplies to families, particularly those still temporarily sheltered in evacuation centers.
Sarangani Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao formally received the donation on behalf of the province and expressed gratitude to BCDA for its timely support to residents as they work toward rebuilding their lives.
The relief packages included 20-liter containers of drinking water, blankets, mosquito nets, and coloring materials for children to help address both the immediate needs and psychosocial well-being of families affected by the earthquake.

Representing BCDA during the turnover, Vice President for Public Affairs Leilani Macasaet underscored the importance of compassion and solidarity in times of crisis.
“Sa panahon ng sakuna, ang pinakamahalagang paalala ay hindi kayo nag-iisa. Nawa’y makatulong kami habang unti-unti ninyong naibabalik ang normal na takbo ng inyong pang-araw-araw na buhay,” Macasaet said.
She emphasized that beyond providing relief goods, BCDA remains committed to supporting communities on their path to recovery through meaningful partnerships and responsive corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The “Tabang at Kalinga” CSR Relief Initiative is part of BCDA’s contribution to the Marcos administration’s call for a whole-of-government approach in delivering timely and coordinated assistance to communities affected by the earthquake and the succeeding typhoons.
Through the initiative, BCDA continues to demonstrate its commitment to nation-building by providing immediate humanitarian assistance and helping strengthen the resilience of disaster-stricken communities across the country.
