OLONGAPO CITY — The Olongapo City Government on Monday formalized a stronger partnership with key national government agencies through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) aimed at expanding livelihood opportunities, skills development, and entrepreneurship programs for Olongapeños.

The agreement was signed by the City Government of Olongapo, led by Mayor Atty. Rolen Paulino Jr., through the Livelihood and Cooperative Development Office (LCDO), together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The signing ceremony, held on August 3, reaffirmed the long-standing collaboration among the participating agencies to deliver livelihood initiatives that empower various sectors of the community through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and income-generating opportunities.

Mayor Paulino said the renewed partnership reflects the shared commitment of both the local government and its partner agencies to create more economic opportunities and improve the quality of life of Olongapo residents.

“Today, we formally reaffirm our long-standing partnership, which serves as proof of our shared commitment to continuously work together in creating more opportunities and a brighter future for every Olongapeño,” the mayor said.

Under the agreement, the partner agencies will continue to strengthen the implementation of livelihood programs by combining their expertise and resources. TESDA will provide technical and vocational skills training, DTI will support entrepreneurship and enterprise development initiatives, BJMP will collaborate on livelihood interventions for its beneficiaries, while the city government, through the LCDO, will coordinate and facilitate program implementation at the local level.

City officials said the partnership is expected to enhance economic empowerment by equipping beneficiaries with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to establish sustainable sources of income and improve their livelihoods.

The MOA signing underscores the Olongapo City Government’s commitment to inclusive economic development through strategic partnerships that promote employment, entrepreneurship, and community-based livelihood opportunities for the benefit of Olongapeños.
