BALER, Aurora — PhilHealth Baler brought health, membership, and identification services closer to thousands of Aurora residents through its participation in the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” on Sept. 14, 2026, held simultaneously at three locations in the province.
In a statement on Tuesday, the activities, conducted as part of the celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s birthday, featured the PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan) Program, providing members with access to primary healthcare services and other PhilHealth assistance.
At Baler Central School, around 270 parents, students, and school employees were served through the YAKAP Caravan. The activity, conducted in coordination with the DepEd Medical Unit and HiCare Diagnostic Clinic, included health consultations, while partner pharmacies provided medicines under the PhilHealth GAMOT program.
Dental and eye checkups were also made available to residents who attended the caravan.
At the Provincial Capitol Grounds, the main Handog ng Pangulo site brought together 22 government agencies that served approximately 1,500 beneficiaries.
PhilHealth Baler established three servicing desks to assist members with YAKAP assignment, Member Data Record (MDR) and identification card printing, and updating of PhilHealth membership records.
PhilHealth YAKAP partners, including Aurora Diagnostic Center and the Baler Rural Health Unit, also provided medical consultations and prescriptions for medicines to PhilHealth members. The Department of Health (DOH) and Aurora Memorial Hospital likewise provided primary healthcare services during the activity.
Meanwhile, at the Dipaculao Sports Complex, around 500 overseas Filipino worker (OFW) families and members and jobseekers received PhilHealth services, including membership registration, YAKAP partner assignment, and MDR and ID issuance.
The activity in Dipaculao was held alongside a job fair and OFW Family Day celebration, providing participants access to employment-related and government services in one venue.
PhilHealth Baler Chief Social Insurance Officer Annabelle S. Bautista-Imana said the activities provided an opportunity for the agency to bring its services closer to members across Aurora.
The activities were attended by provincial officials led by Governor Isidro P. Galban, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Ramon “Mon” Ilagan, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, provincial department heads and employees, as well as DepEd Aurora Schools Division Superintendent Dante Parungao, Dipaculao Mayor Danilo A. Tolentino, and representatives of the Department of Migrant Workers, DOLE, and OWWA.
The PhilHealth Baler activities highlighted the agency’s continuing efforts to expand access to primary healthcare, membership services, and other benefits through the YAKAP program and its partner healthcare providers. (Jason de Asis)
