Hermosa, Bataan – The official turnover of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) was held yesterday at the Mayor’s office, reinforcing efforts to improve the collection and use of reliable community-level data for local governance.

The CBMS is a key tool that enables local governments to gather accurate and up-to-date information from households and communities. The data generated through the system will help identify qualified beneficiaries of government social protection programs and support more inclusive, informed, and effective development planning at the local level.

Mayor Anne Lorraine Adorable-Inton emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “Good governance starts with accurate data. The CBMS will help us identify real needs in our communities and make sure that no one is left behind.”

Under the CBMS framework, priority is given to sectors that require additional support, including persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, indigenous peoples, solo parents, farmers and fisherfolk, women, and the youth. The initiative aims to ensure that development programs reach those who need them most and that community needs are properly reflected in local policies and plans. 🤝

The activity was attended by MPDO Department Head Mr. Ejay Salenga, Mr. Kenneth Landicho, and Atty. Bernard Odron, who underscored the importance of strengthening data systems to enhance public service delivery.

With the formal turnover of the CBMS, the local government continues to take significant steps toward evidence-based decision-making and more responsive programs for the community.
