CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla Jr. personally visited the site of the collapsed nine-storey building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on May 27, 2026, to assess the ongoing search, retrieval, and clearing operations being conducted by government responders.
The inspection was joined by Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jess B. Mendez, who coordinated with responding agencies to ensure continuous emergency response efforts and the safety of affected residents and responders in the area.
According to authorities, a total of 558 personnel from PRO3, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other government agencies have been deployed since May 25 to assist in search and rescue operations, traffic management, site security, and debris clearing following the collapse of the building.

Secretary Remulla commended the dedication and cooperation of all responding units working tirelessly at the incident site, emphasizing the importance of inter-agency coordination in addressing emergencies and ensuring public safety.
Brig. Gen. Mendez assured the public that PRO3 remains fully committed to supporting all ongoing operations and maintaining close coordination with local government units and partner agencies as response and recovery efforts continue.
